Pre Requisites
Before you start rooting, you need to make sure that you have all the required things with you before you start rooting.
Your Asus Zenfone 5 must have more than 70% of battery charge present in it.
USB Debugging should be enabled on your device. You can turn it on by going to Settings > Developer Options > Enable USB debugging.

How to Root Asus Zenfone 5 A501GC
Follow the step by step guide to start the rooting process on your Asus Zenfone 5 A501GC.
Connect your smartphone to your computer using USB connection.
Now you need to copy the APK file to your phone which you downloaded before.
When you see that the file has been copied, disconnect your phone from your computer.
Enable Unknown sources by navigating to Menu > Settings > Security > Enable Unknown Sources
Open the File Manager in your smartphone and browse to the location where you copied the APK file.
Tap on the file and the installation will be started by itself.
When you see that installation has been completed open the Applications tab on your device and you will see an app named SuperSU there.
